Couples in 2020 surely have had their patience along with every other emotion tested this year.
From postponing and rescheduling to juggling ever-changing state guidelines and restrictions, couples have faced an additional level of stress on top of wedding planning.
While it certainly hasn’t been ideal for anyone, seeing our wedding community come together with each other and all our couples have been a great reminder that love isn’t canceled. Sure, it sounds cheesy, but getting married is an emotional experience. Add a pandemic and you have some severe mental breakdowns, heartbreak and exhaustion.
The good news? We work with some amazing couples and vendors – all of which have been amazing to work alongside sides this year!
The biggest question we hear is “what’s everyone else doing?” We wanted to give our couples a chance to share their experience and how they’ve planned around these constant curveballs and what they’re doing to still enjoy their big (possibly now small) day!
What was your original wedding date?
May 16, 2020
Did you stick to your original date and working around current restrictions or holding out until all this has passed?
We moved our date to September 2020 and holding strong on that date. Even if there is another COVID issue we will be married that day.
What was your original venue? Are you sticking with that venue or moving elsewhere?
We are getting married at my uncle’s farm and that was our original venue as well. It’s very special to us because that is where we first met.
Who are your other vendors?
- DJ: David Kleba
- Photographer: Christa Lee Photography

While none of this has been ideal for anyone, has anything positive come out of this for you?
Realizing how amazing my friends and family are rallying around us and keeping us positive and focused on the end goal!
Is there anything you’re most looking forward to in light of your changed plans?
Partying and celebrating with our friends!!!! And seeing Caleb at the end of the aisle.
How was the response from Cooked Goose in rescheduling and accommodating your change of plans?
The Cooked Goose has been nothing but AMAZING to work with. They have gone above and beyond my expectations and I look forward to them being a part of our day!
