Weddings are resuming and we’re loving weekly reminders that love isn’t canceled!
We’ve truly seen more love and pure joy in weddings this year than ever before. Of course, weddings prior to this year were just as lovely, but there’s something about seeing people come together to celebrate love in a time the world is portraying otherwise. Love, family, marriage, community and pure togetherness are more than not canceled; they’re reminding us of what truly matters and the importance of staying rooted in togetherness.
Last weekend we had the pleasure of celebrating Alexis + Tommy’s big day! We’d been working with this amazing couple since last March planning their May 2020 wedding. With a couple of rescheduling dates, we gained some extra time with them and they were nothing but positive and amazing to work with, not to mention their day was absolutely breathtaking!
What was your original Wedding date? Or in your case, dates?
Our original wedding day was to be May 16th, 2020. We then changed to August 23, 2020 and finally to August 22nd, 2020. The third time is a charm!
What was your original venue? Did you stick with that venue or move elsewhere?
Luckily, our original venue was available for all of our date changes!

While none of this has been ideal for anyone, has anything positive come out of this for you?
The most positive thing through all this has been that in the end, I got to marry the love of my life surrounded by our amazing family and friends. I see post after post of fellow 2020 brides struggling, and I can’t help but think how lucky I am. All of our vendors were available for all of our date changes and they all went above and beyond for us. We lost no money through this whole process and got to have our favorite vendors be a part of our wedding day. My heart goes out to other brides who haven’t had it as easy as I did.
Is there anything you’re most looking forward to in light of your changed plans?
My parent’s wedding anniversary is in August and I always wanted to get married in August. So now we get to share a wedding month! It is also one of my favorite months. When Tommy and I were originally deciding on a wedding date, we chose May because we didn’t want it to be too hot with an outdoor ceremony. But I think it all turned out great, even with the heat!
How was the response from Cooked Goose in rescheduling and accommodating your change of plans?
The Cooked Goose was beyond amazing. From the first food tasting to my wedding day. They were available for all of my date changes and were constantly in contact with me. Every question and concern I had was answered so quickly. Times are hard and the Cooked Goose did everything they could to still cater for my wedding. Their changes to accommodate during COVID-19 were so helpful and made all my wedding guests feel safe. The servers arrived on time, the food was hot and everything tasted incredible! I heard people talking about the food all night. Mandie was so helpful through this entire process and took the stress out of wedding planning. I could not recommend the Cooked Goose more and cannot wait to have them cater all of my future events.
