September has been deemed the month of Backyard Weddings, and we couldn’t be loving them more!
We kicked off the first weekend with Krista and Charlie in her parent’s backyard after they downsized significantly and opted to forego their original venue.
In July, less than two months before their wedding day, Krista and Charlie contacted us to accommodate their change in wedding catering plans and we were happy to accommodate them! They already had a solid crew of vendors and we were honored being part of their special day!
What was your original Wedding date?
Thankfully, we didn’t change our original date! We decided to get married regardless if there were 300 guests or 10 guests!
What was your original venue? What made you choose the Backyard Reception?
Our original venue was the Science Center’s Point View Hall; however, due to the ever changing restrictions, we decided to move our reception to my parents’ backyard so we can still celebrate our marriage!
Did you have a larger Wedding originally planned? If yes, how do you feel about changing direction?
We drastically cut down our wedding from 300 people to 85. Although we were devastated to cut our dear family and friends, we wanted to make sure we stayed within the local government restrictions and that our guests felt comfortable coming to our wedding.
While none of this has been ideal for anyone, has anything positive come out of this for you?
Our day was so intimate; if we had 300 people, we would have been running around to make sure we talked to everyone. And in the end, you are marrying your person regardless of the situation.
How was the response from Cooked Goose in rescheduling and accommodating your change of plans?
Mandie was awesome! She informed Charlie and me of any ideas the Cooked Goose were trying out for COVID Weddings and accommodated any requests we had! We got married a month ago and people are still talking about how good the food was!
